Jessie Chua is a clinical psychologist at Think Kids. Jessie Chua holds a Doctorate in Psychology (Clinical Psychology) from the United States of America. She is a Licensed Psychologist in the State of California.
Trained in the USA, Jessie has extensive experience in various clinical settings, including psychiatric hospitals, outpatient clinics, schools, and assisted living facilities. She works well with children, teens, and adults presenting with a range of clinical issues including, but not limited to, anxiety and depression, trauma-related disorders, and severe psychotic disorders. Jessie is also certified in many psychometric tools that are used to establish accurate diagnosis and treatment plans.
In the therapy room, Jessie employs a combination of Play and Art Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness-based techniques. Jessie has experience working with trauma, school avoidance and runaways, self-harming behaviors, and distressing peer and family relationships. To develop a clearer understanding of the presenting issues, Jessie incorporates family members, teachers and other health professionals to promote systemic changes leading to symptom reduction.
As a passionate advocate of the mental health field, Jessie is often invited as a guest speaker at a local university to generate interest about the field of clinical psychology.
