Alison holds a Master’s in Counselling with five years of experience as a school counsellor in international and local MOE school settings in Singapore. She is an Allied member of the Singapore Association for Counselling (SAC) and has served two terms on the Executive Committee of the Association for Christian Counselling (Singapore). Additionally, she has contributed as a writer for the Counselling & Psychotherapy Review, Singapore. She works with children, adolescents, young adults, and adults, supporting clients through a wide range of challenges. Her areas of experience include depression, emotional and behavioural difficulties, addiction, self-harm, grief and loss, neurodiversity(ADHD, Autism, etc.), and eating disorders. Alison works collaboratively and compassionately, creating a safe, non-judgmental, and supportive space where clients, whether they are adults or children, feel heard, understood, and empowered to work towards meaningful change. Alison uses an integrative approach, drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Sand Play Therapy, tailoring her approach to each client’s developmental stage, needs, and goals. Her style is person-centred, strengths-based, and collaborative, with an emphasis on helping clients develop self-awareness, emotional regulation, coping skills, and resilience. She meets clients where they are, recognising that each individual’s experiences and therapeutic journey are unique. Having lived in India, Australia, the USA, and the UK for 16 years, Alison brings a deeply multicultural and globally informed perspective to her practice. As a third-culture kid herself and as a parent of four children, she has personal insight into the complexities of relocation, identity, belonging, cultural adjustment, and life transitions. She works sensitively with individuals and families navigating cross-cultural and multicultural experiences, drawing on both her lived experience and professional training. Her approach is culturally attuned and holistic, helping clients understand their experiences within the wider context of family, culture, relationships, and identity.
